Should we change the way we teach younger students about the history of the United States? Explain.

I think that we should teach the younger students about the truth with history. I feel its easier to tell them and let them understand at a young age instead of lie to them till they reach the 11th grade, and then tell them the truth. I mean most of the things that we have been made to believe would actually be easier if we had learned the truth. Like making up the stories of the explorers finding new land and taking it over while having a good relationship with the natives? When in all actuality they were pillaging their homes, killing their men, and raping their women. Its harsh to tell the younger generation but its better then telling them that they were all holding hands and singing songs.
